Nissan Leaf uses a 24 kWh lithium-ion battery pack integrated into the car floorpan to power a 80 kilowatt (107 horsepower) electric motor driving the front wheels. The EPA classifies its electricity supply in 73 miles, although the owners say range can vary from 65 to 100 miles, depending on the speed, temperature and their use of the car heater in cold weather.
